HumanHire is partnering with a dynamic company based in Auburn Hills, MI, in search of a Staff Accountant. This organization is committed to delivering high-quality services in the construction industry and offers a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the monthly closing process. This position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
What We Offer Staff Accountants:
- Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
- Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Staff Accountant Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate general ledger records by recording financial transactions, including sales, purchases, payroll, and expenses
- Reconcile all general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Prepare and analyze various financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Manage accounts payable, including processing vendor invoices, managing due dates, and making payments
- Handle accounts receivable, including generating customer invoices, tracking outstanding balances, and following up on collections
- Assist with payroll calculations, tax deductions, and generating payroll reports
- Prepare and file sales/use tax and personal property taxes
- Track and maintain records of company fixed assets
- Participate in the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information
Staff Accountant Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in Accounting or Business Administration; o
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar staff accountant role
- SAGE300 ERPÂ experience required
- Strong proficiency in the Outlook suite (with a focus on Excel)
- Experience with Procore is a plus
- Analytical skills with the ability to conduct predictive analysis
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of the construction industry and union requirements is a plus
