Job Description
HumanHire is partnered with a well-established, high-volume healthcare organization seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Patient Payment Poster. This individual will be responsible for accurately posting patient and insurance payments using NextGen and Phreesia while maintaining HIPAA compliance and supporting overall team operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately post patient and insurance payments in NextGen using appropriate reason codes
- Apply unapplied funds to charges and manage insurance EOB adjudication
- Process payments from lockbox, insurance remittances, and payment journals
- Complete batch logs and support Cash Control with reconciliation activities
- Review daily cash reports and ensure all batches are balanced using Background Business Processor (BBP)
- Scan payment journals and properly dispose of sensitive materials in compliance with HIPAA
- Transfer patient credits as requested by front office staff
- Cross-train with team members to ensure coverage and workflow continuity
- Participate in department meetings and adhere to internal policies and procedures
- Identify and recommend process improvements when appropriate
Requirements:
- Prior experience with patient payment posting in a healthcare setting
- Hands-on experience with Phreesia
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information
