Job Description
HumanHire is partnered with one of the top hospitals in Queens in search of a Bilingual Medicaid Investigator.
We are seeking a dedicated professional to support patients and community members in navigating financial assistance programs, including Medicaid, state marketplace insurance, and other healthcare aid options
What we offer:
- Pay:Â $26/hr
- Location:Â Queens, NY
- Schedule:Â Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm (alternating weekends)
- Benefits:Â comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan
Bilingual Medicaid Investigator Responsibilities:
- Meet with patients, family members, or consumers in various settings such as hospital offices, emergency rooms, and patient rooms to assess eligibility and guide them through applications.
- Arrange follow-up meetings to collect required documentation and ensure applications are completed.
- Evaluate cases for existing coverage or eligibility for Medicaid, state marketplace programs, or hospital assistance programs.
- Process and update applications in the relevant systems while maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory guidelines.
- Represent the organization as needed at social services offices and patient residences within the five boroughs and Nassau/Suffolk counties.
Bilingual Medicaid Investigator Qualifications:
- Required:Â Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Preferred:Â Associate degree or higher.
- Experience with Medicaid processes or third-party insurance verification
- Certification as a NYS Health Certified Application Counselor is a plus
