Job Description
HumanHire working with a local construction company in Hauppauge to find their next Lead Estimator who will manage the estimation process from planning to procurement for various project scopes. Responsibilities include providing estimates, managing budgets, overseeing procurement, and ensuring compliance with requirements. Estimates range from conceptual to lump sum bids.
Salary up to $200K plus discretionary bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee estimation process and client submissions.
- Finalize trade contracts and manage procurement.
- Communicate effectively throughout project phases.
- Develop and review trade-specific scopes of work.
- Obtain and expand trade contractor bids.
- Ensure compliance with labor and MWBE requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and conduct contractor prequalification.
- Use specialized software for estimating and procurement.
- Mentor team members and uphold company values.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- High organizational abilities with attention to detail.
- Adaptability, problem-solving, and self-development.
Daily Activities:
- Review project designs and engage with trade contractors.
- Attend project meetings and discuss cost and constructability.
Qualifications:
- Deep knowledge of construction trades and regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, PlanGrid, and AutoCAD.
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of construction estimating experience.
Schedule:
