Job Description


HumanHire is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our client in Ronkonkoma. The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing various human resources functions, including payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, employee relations, and compliance. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Administration: Process payroll, manage direct deposits and payroll deductions using the Paychex system, maintain employee calendars and PTO balances, and address payroll discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Benefits Administration: Oversee benefits enrollment, annual renewals, terminations, and vendor management. Administer retirement plans and communicate benefits changes to employees.
  • Workers’ Compensation, Disability, and FMLA: Manage and ensure compliance with workers' compensation, disability, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Recruitment: Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, attending job fairs, maintaining relationships with recruiters, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews. Assist in the preparation of hiring managers for interviews, maintain application and resume records, and conduct reference checks.
  • Hiring and Onboarding: Prepare offer letters, manage new hire documentation, maintain employee records, and direct the onboarding and orientation process.
  • Training and Development: Document training programs and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Employee Relations and Terminations: Manage employee separations, terminations, and handle confidential HR information, maintaining trust and discretion at all times.
  • Internal Customer Service: Respond to employee requests and inquiries regarding HR matters and provide support as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a human resources role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • High attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through.
  • Upbeat and professional demeanor with a sense of urgency when needed.

Highly Desirable:
  • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish.
