Job Description
The Float Medical Assistant supports a urology practice within a multidisciplinary healthcare organization. Responsibilities include patient intake, clinical and laboratory support, diagnostic testing, EMR documentation, and assisting providers in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred to serve diverse patient populations. This float role requires flexibility and travel between multiple practice locations.
What’s in It for You
- Pay Rate: $24-30/hr (based on experience)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 8.5-hour shifts
- Floating Locations: Brooklyn, NY; Upper East Side, NY; Downtown Manhattan, NY
- Benefits: Health, dental, vision, life insurance, short- & long-term disability, 401(k), generous PTO, and 8 paid holidays (2 floating)
Medical Assistant Responsibilities
- Manage patient intake and document information accurately
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, including venipuncture
- Record patient vital signs and prepare patients for exams/procedures
- Assist physicians during examinations and office procedures
- Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
- Sterilize and maintain medical instruments and equipment
- Support EMR documentation and provider/staff workflows
Medical Assistant Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant Certification required
- Current BLS Certification
- 1+ year outpatient or lab experience
- Experience with EMR systems
