White Plains, NY | $115,000–$130,000
We are seeking a results-driven Director of Claims to lead a high-performing Claims Operations team. Director of Claims Key Responsibilities
- Lead claims operations to meet turnaround, accuracy, and productivity goals.
- Oversee disability, Paid Family Leave, critical illness/accident, medical, vision, dental, and flexible benefits claims.
- Monitor workflows and ensure efficient processing of complex or high-dollar claims.
- Track and report claims metrics, identify quality issues, and implement process improvements.
- Coach, mentor, and manage union and non-union staff to achieve performance goals.
- Ensure team maintains up-to-date knowledge of benefit plans, systems, and regulations.
- Collaborate with leadership on claims strategy, compliance, and operational initiatives.
Director of Claims Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field (Associate degree considered)
- NYS Accident & Health Adjuster License (or ability to obtain after hire)
- Claims handling experience (health, disability, Paid Family Leave, or self-funded plans)
- Management or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of claims systems, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
