Job Description
HumanHire is partnered with a family-owned apparel distributor with operations throughout North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East in search of an Accounts Receivable Specialist for their office in Melville, NY.

We are seeking candidates with 1-2 years of accounting or AR experience.
What we offer:
- Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist
- Location: Melville, NY
- Schedule: Monday & Tuesday, 8AM-5:30PM / Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday, 8AM-5PM
- Compensation: Up to $55,000 per year
- Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, 401K Match, Profit Sharing + Bonus, OT, Summer Fridays, and more!
Responsibilities:
- Manage AR functions such as invoicing & billing and manage cash posting & cash applications
- Improve collection performance by following up on overdue payments, sending out past due notices, and negotiating payment plans when necessary
- Post AR transactions to GL
- Identify discrepancies and ensure timely processing of payments
- Assist in AR statement preparation for month-end close
- Maintain database of customers and payment status
- Resolve billing issues as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of accounting or AR experience required
- Strong working knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros)
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus!
