Job Description
Accounts Receivable Specialist
We are partnering with one of the nation's top Orthotics & Prosthetics providers to find an Accounts Receivable Specialist for their East Meadow office. The successful candidate will have strong experience in medical billing, insurance claims, and accounts receivable processes. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a team that helps provide top-quality orthotics and prosthetics services.

Accounts Receivable Specialist Responsibilities:
- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Investigate and resolve denied claims promptly.
- Manage commercial and Medicaid claims, including posting, appeals, and ADRs.
- Review electronic and paper EOBs for denied claims and line-item denials.
- Identify and pursue collection efforts for delinquent accounts as necessary.
- Coordinate medical record requests for appeal purposes.
- Communicate accurate billing and patient information to insurance carriers.
- Prepare weekly reports on account status for management.
- Adjust accounts per contracted rates to ensure accurate AR.
Accounts Receivable Specialist Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of medical insurance, billing guidelines, and compliance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical practice or healthcare setting.
- Experience with commercial and Medicaid claims, including NY Medicaid.
