Job Description
HumanHire is partnering with one of the largest personal care products manufacturers in the country to find a 2nd Shift Mechanic for their facility in Commack!
Pay: $35/hr
Hours: Monday-Friday, 430PM-130AM (with 5-10 hours of built in OT weekly!)
2nd Shift Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Use tools (hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments) to repair and maintain machines like engines, motors, conveyors, and production equipment.
- Set up new machines and make sure they are working properly and safely.
- Regularly test machines to check they’re running smoothly and safely.
- Collect information on how machines are working and suggest ways to reduce downtime.
- Use electrical repair tools and equipment safely and properly.
- Manage your time well and complete tasks given by your supervisor.
- Follow company rules, safety guidelines, and attend work regularly.
- Work without needing constant supervision.
2nd Shift Mechanic Qualifications:
- Graduation from a technical school or a similar skilled trades program.
- At least 5 years of experience working with mechanical equipment, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or supplements industry.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to understand blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and PLCs (programmable logic controllers).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good knowledge of using electrical testing and repair tools.
- Strong understanding of machine operations, parts, and maintenance.
- Good understanding of safety practices.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
