Job Description
HumanHire is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and efficient operation of packaging and food processing machinery. The ideal candidate will act as a Team Lead and help guide other Mechanics through their workflow.
Hourly rate: Upto $40/hour plus full benefits, PTO, and more
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8AM-430PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical systems, including engines, motors, conveyor systems, and other production equipment, adhering to technical diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Prepare new machinery for operation by following established protocols and procedures, conducting thorough testing to ensure safe and efficient functionality.
- Gather data on machine performance, analyzing downtime causes, and providing recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
- Safely handle and utilize electrical repair and testing tools and equipment.
- Mentor and guide junior mechanics, providing support and training as needed.
- Effectively manage time to complete tasks and meet deadlines as assigned by the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Perform tasks independently, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality.
Skills and Experience:
- Certification from a technical school or completion of an accredited skilled trades program.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with mechanical and electrical equipment, preferably in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or nutraceuticals.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), from basic to advanced levels.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in high-demand environments.
- Proficient in using electrical testing and repair tools and equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of machinery, spare parts, and routine maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and industry regulations.
- Strong team player with the ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
